According to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Integration, one part of the doses will be sent to the border areas with Brazil, which are at risk from the new strain of Sars-CoV-2 detected in its neighboring nation.

Out of 200,000 vaccines, 100,000 of them donated by China and other supplies also coming on board, will be delivered to the Expanded Immunization Program, Blanco explained.

The new vaccine doses will be used to continue with the campaign launched in February and start a new phase in April with people over 60 years and patients suffering from serious diseases.
