Velissarios Kossivakis, manager of the Greek team for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize to the Cuban doctors, sent Prensa Latina a communique in which he highlights that since that proposal was launched on March 28, 2020, many other countries had joined in a month and the campaign spread globally.

At present, Kossivakis asserted, 231,000 people are the signatories of our request: Cuba Nobel Yes/Blockade No!

The guidelines of the Cuban Medical Brigades are based on the concept of the Revolutionary Medicine, as Che Guevara defined it in 1960, he added.

Kossivakis recalled that the Heroic Guerrilla, a doctor himself, established the duty of the state ‘to provide public service to as many people as possible, establish a preventive medicine program … and guide the creative possibilities of all professional medical and health personnel towards the duties of the social medicine.’

He thanked that country for this and marked out that the fight for Cuba’s truth against the wall of silence and disinformation in mass media will continue in Greece.
