The Head of Mission and the experienced diplomat discussed the history, objectives, and importance of the work of the Cuban Institute of International Relations (ISRI) and the similar institution in this African nation.
During the cordial meeting at the Cuban Embassy, in the presence of Minister Counselor Luis Enrique González Acosta, Pérez Mesa agreed on the possibilities of strengthening academic ties, including the possible signing of agreements with ISRI and the Center for International Policy Research.
Postgraduate courses, diplomas in international relations, specializations in foreign service, master’s and doctoral programs, including faculty exchanges, stand out among the likely areas of increased interaction. The Cuban Ambassador and Chikanda emphasized the usefulness of using science as a tool for diplomacy and preparing new generations to face current challenges while continuing to defend the achievements of both countries, based on the principles and purposes of the United Nations Charter.
