Krirkkitaya highlighted the positive results of the government’s offensive against criminal gangs, and the rescue of thousands of people duped with false promises of employment. The current challenge, he explained, lies in distinguishing between real victims and suspects posing as victims to evade justice.
To this end, the police implemented a new 74-question interrogation method designed to identify criminals among the rescued, both Thai and foreigners. This format, introduced by General Thatchai Pitaneelaboot, director of the Royal Police Anti-Trafficking Center, is in response to the discovery that many rescued Thais in Cambodia voluntarily left to work with these gangs.
The new format delves into the individual’s travel, accommodation and activity history, providing evidence to issue arrest warrants.
