According to reports from the provincial offices of the National Authority, natural disasters have killed 80 of our fellow citizens and injured more than 100 in the last month in several provinces, said the spokesman of the institution, Janan Saiq.
The institution reported that more than 1,800 houses and 1,217 hectares of farmland were also destroyed due to rainfall and floods.
Afghanistan is an agricultural country, but the lack of an adequate agricultural system has increased the vulnerability of farmers to natural disasters. Meanwhile, the Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock called for assistance for the affected provinces.
A farmer’s wealth is his crops.
Since the floods have destroyed their land, they need financial support.
A survey should be conducted and the government, institutions and development banks should compensate the losses in each province and district, said the first deputy of the Chamber, Mirwais Haji Zada.
