I am leaving with the satisfaction that the projects we are developing together are moving forward in an appropriate manner and will soon yield tangible results for the well-being of our people, the member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) told Prensa Latina.
Rodríguez Parrilla pointed out that since his arrival in this capital on Tuesday, he had a brief but very intense agenda, which included meetings with the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), To Lam; the President of the Republic, Luong Cuong; and official conversations and a work session with his counterpart, Bui Thanh Son.
In all cases, we found enormous affection and an invariable solidarity with Cuba, as well as a great interest and willingness to promote bilateral projects, especially those aimed at producing rice and other foods, and ensuring the rice supply for the basic basket of our population.
The head of Cuban diplomacy noted that Wednesday’s session began by paying tribute to President Ho Chi Minh who, together with the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, “marked the path that has always brought Vietnam and Cuba together and that poses advantages and possibilities of mutual support in the construction of socialism.”
He said that before arriving here, he paid official visits to Malaysia and Singapore and in both cases they particularly focused on promoting economic exchange, especially in the energy and food sectors.
Rodríguez Parrilla and the delegation accompanying him will travel to Laos on Thursday for the same purpose and will subsequently attend the 58th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, which will begin on February 24 in Geneva.

For Vietnam, solidarity, support and cooperation with Cuba is a duty and a tradition, and their historic relationship not only benefits the two countries, but also is an exemplary contribution to the progressive movement in the world, he said.
