The working program foresees to address the progress of the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area, medicines, the launching of the 2025 theme, as well as the presentation of several reports by the Commissions.
The latter relate to the roadmap of practical steps to silence the guns in Africa 2023-2024, AU participation in the G20, institutional reform and the Forum of Heads of State and Government involved in the African Peer Review Mechanism.
The initiatives of the African Development Bank, the report of the commission on the situation in Palestine, the elections and appointment of members of the organs of the continental organization, the appointment of the five members of the Peace and Security Council and the Panel of the Wise are also scheduled for this Sunday’s sessions.
The dates and venues of the 39th ordinary session of the AU General Assembly, the seventh Mid-Year Coordination Meeting and the adoption of the declaration of the meeting held in Ghana last July, as well as the decisions and declarations of the current period of the General Assembly will also be defined.
