The event, to be held in this eastern Cuban city this year, will take place on April 15-19.
Organized by the Cuban Culture Ministry (MINCULT), the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC), the Provincial Government in Holguin, and the Municipality of Gibara, this Festival’s seventh edition will bring together filmmakers and artists from different countries.
Characterized by being a multicultural event and a festival for all arts, but focused on cinema, films from any nationality can compete in their native language, with subtitles in Spanish, whose term covers from 2023 until the closing registration date, the note stated.
The categories in the competition are fiction films, short-length films, documentary films and documentary short films, animated films, and experimental audiovisual.
According to the text, those films will compete for the Festival’s leading awards in each category, called Lucia Awards, and other prizes and collateral mentions.
