The head of state called the report “the first harvest,” as the result of the efforts and commitment of a work team. He considered that the period ahead brings shared experiences and lessons learned during an intense, challenging, and complex initial stage. “It allows us to renew the hope that motivates and inspires what we do, but above all the commitment to meet goals and change our country,” he stressed.
The Secretary of Social Communication of the presidency, Santiago Palomo, invited people to access Guatemala.gob.gt for more information on “The first harvest” and to download the complete document when it is on the page.
According to the official, on this occasion, Arévalo will present the results for 2024 and also announce the work priorities that will guide the Executive’s work in the year that has just begun. “It is the date on which a group of corrupt anti-democrats clung to power and tried to prevent the peaceful and democratic transition,” Palomo said.
Santiago Palomo also stressed that “January 14th marked the change in the presidency, in the government’s way of being and doing, of building a country and exercising the mandate granted by the people. (…) Democracy is fundamentally working to respond to the population’s most pressing needs, focusing on families throughout Guatemala.”
