Official statistics from the police agency shared through the X account detail that Sunday, January 12, closed without a homicide day attributable to gangs.
The days in January when no murders occurred were 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12.
These results confirm what was achieved in 2024 when the country registered the lowest homicide rate in Latin America, as there were 114 crimes, which indicates that 1.9 homicides occurred per 100,000 inhabitants, according to a report released by the National Criminal Information System (SNIC).
