“Let it be heard loud and clear: we are not going to return to the neoliberal model, we are not going to return to the regime of corruption and privileges, we will not allow the decadence of the past to return, where the government was for a few,” said the dignitary in a crowded Zócalo in the capital.

When presenting to the citizens this Sunday the report for her first 100 days of government, Sheinbaum assured that her administration will continue with “Mexican Humanism and with the maxim of ‘For the good of all, the poor first.’”

“I insist: some wanted us not to fulfill our commitment. I don’t know what they expected. That I said one thing and acted another way? That I committed myself to the people in my campaign and then betrayed them? Well, they will be left wanting,” she warned.

“Because we –she clarified– those of us who keep our word, those of us who do not lie, those of us who do not steal, are not like them.”

“We are very far from hypocrisy, we do not betray our principles, we do not betray our history, we do not betray our flag and we will never betray the people of Mexico,” she asserted.

According to her, during the first 100 days of her mandate she traveled 32,449 kilometers by land and air and held meetings with representatives of the administrations of the federative entities to define together the next strategic projects.

She stressed that the foundations and the basis of the process of changes (called the Fourth Transformation) laid by López Obrador, whom she defined as the best president, and explained that the government she leads is responsible for consolidating, adding and advancing with the second floor of that work.

She also made a clarification to “those who think that women do not have their own initiative, that others think for us, to those who affirm that women do not govern because we do not have the capacity or intelligence, to those who believe that president is written with an ‘e’”.

“We tell them: just as we run a home, just as we are mothers and grandmothers, we also have the strength, integrity, temperament and ability to be firefighters, engineers, astronauts, doctors, lawyers and supreme commanders of the armed forces,” she emphasized.

In her opinion, discrimination, racism, classism and machismo are vestiges of the past.

“Mexico is changing for the better. Even those who remain stuck in the past know this. We are living in exceptional, unique, extraordinary times, because it is a time of transformation and it is a time for women,” she stressed.

The dignitary completed that period of time at the head of the country last Wednesday with a high citizen approval rating (between 77 and 80 percent, according to the most recognized pollsters).
