Cuba bets on solidarity and peace, ambassador to Argentina states (+Photo)

Buenos Aires, Jan 11 (Prensa Latina) In times of hatred and war, Cuba is betting on love, solidarity and peace, Ambassador in Buenos Aires Pedro Pablo Prada said at a ceremony on the 66th anniversary of the Revolution.

In the meeting with diplomats, parliamentarians, members of the Solidarity Movement, Cuban residents here and graduates in Cuba, Prada called for “respect for the United Nations Charter and the principles of international law, first of all, and independence, sovereignty and self-determination of States.”

He noted that Cuba will continue to strengthen socialist democracy, the rights and guarantees of citizens, and will insist on fighting the battle against hegemonic ideologies and cultural colonization.

The ambassador denounced the consequences of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States for more than six decades, Cuba’s inclusion on a list of alleged sponsors of terrorism, and the intensification of the media campaign against the process initiated on January 1, 1959.

Prada also demanded the end to the genocide against Palestine and the expansionism of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

We defend Latin American and Caribbean unity in its great diversity, without exclusions or fratricidal aggression. We claim the right of Argentines to exercise their sovereignty over the Malvinas, South Georgia, South Sandwich Islands (Falkland Islands) and the corresponding maritime territories. The friendship between our countries is fireproof, he added.

The ambassador pointed out that the freedom conquered by Cubans 66 years ago will be safeguarded as the most precious asset and defended to the last consequences.

The difficulties that my country faces are explained by the intensification of the silent war by the United States. The inclusion on the (State Sponsors of Terrorism – SSOT) list made the effects of the cruel blockade, the multiple crises that have plagued the world since 2008, worsened by the Covid-19 pandemic, and two hurricanes and an earthquake that left more than 60,000 families homeless in November, more suffocating, he pointed out.

Media and networks only spread biased news. Few people know that just 20 days ago, more than 700,000 Cubans marched in Havana to protest against the attacks. Socialist Cuba resists and does so thanks to the heroic sacrifice, unity and dignity of its people, as well as due to international solidarity. We will never be alone, the diplomat added.

Prada went on to say that Cuba will continue to promote its development plans and the search for the greatest possible prosperity and social justice, and welcomed Cuba’s incorporation into the BRICS, which he considered part of promising initiatives.
