China allocates millions of dollars for aid and recovery in Tibet

Beijing, Jan 10 (Prensa Latina) The Communist Party of China (CPC) has allocated 50 million yuan (approximately 7.3 million dollars) to support the relief and recovery efforts that continue in Tibet after the earthquake.

The money will be used mainly to support the population of the regions hardest hit by the earthquake, which left at least 126 dead, more than 300 injured and thousands of houses collapsed.

According to the official statement, the funds will be used to provide help to those working on the front line in the rescue efforts, as well as to offer assistance to those who suffered great losses due to the disaster. In addition, part of the money will be used to repair damaged basic infrastructure, including the Party’s educational centers.

The Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee said that financial support will be used exclusively and efficiently to provide humanitarian aid in the areas most in need.

Members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee assessed the situation and outlined action lines to continue rescue efforts. During the meeting, President Xi Jinping stressed the importance of maintaining a rapid and organized response in this critical phase of the emergency.

Xi Jinping also highlighted the outstanding efforts of rescue forces, including teams from the fire unit, the People’s Liberation Army and the armed police, who have worked in extreme cold and oxygen-deprived conditions due to the altitude in the most affected areas. “The people and Party members have shown exceptional unity, and thanks to the brave intervention of our rescue teams, we have managed to minimize human losses and advance recovery efforts,” he added.

The president stressed the importance of continuing relief efforts for the injured, ensuring that adequate medical care is provided and redoubling efforts to ensure that the affected population spends a safe winter. “It is crucial that we continue to ensure the supply of food, water and heating to those affected. We must also speed up reconstruction work and restore vital infrastructure as soon as possible,” he said.

Xi Jinping urged all levels of government to remain committed to the disaster response, stressing that Party members must lead in the hardest-hit areas.
