Speaking at a working meeting of the Sao Paulo Forum in session in Caracas, the Cuban political leader called in this regard to not allow the right wing to “beat us by divisions,” and called to be more united every day as a legacy of unity from Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez.”
He recalled the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution when he said, in reference to the Cuban collaborators, that for Venezuela “we will have to give everything.”
Lozada added that today more than ever this phrase has enormous validity because for the Bolivarian Republic “we will have to continue to give everything and fight until the end.”
He went on to say that it was necessary to defend the Bolivarian Revolution from all attempts from the North, the United States, the oligarchic and fascist right.
The Cuban PCC leader stressed that it was the duty of the parties of the Sao Paulo Forum to give everything for the homeland of (Simón) Bolívar, (Hugo) Chávez and Nicolás Maduro, and called to move forward and continue to defending Venezuela.
He also quoted Cuban National Hero José Martí when he said, “Whoever stands up today for Cuba stands up for all times,” and paraphrased that “whoever stands up today for Venezuela, for the Bolivarian Revolution, stands up for all times.”
In this regard, he urged to fight for Venezuela and continue to give everything, because by fighting for this country “we fight against fascism.”
For Cuba, he stressed, defending Venezuela and its Bolivarian Revolution “is the highest priority in its foreign policy.”
Lozada thanked those present for their unequivocal positions against the United States economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on Cuba for more than 60 years, which has been intensified in the last five years and which will need to continue to be denounced in the coming months and years.
He also acknowledged the political parties of the Forum for their rejection of Cuba’s inclusion in Washington’s State Sponsors of Terrorism (SSOT) list and their solidarity with the Caribbean island.
Regarding the 45th anniversary of the Sao Paulo Forum, created by Fidel and Luis Inácio Lula da Silva, and taking into account that Brazil presides over the BRICS, Lozada proposed, on behalf of the PCC, to organize a meeting between the Sao Paulo Forum and the Forum of Political Parties of the BRICS.
The meeting would serve to analyze the emerging world that can be created by Latin American and Caribbean societies, but also “to connect them with important countries such as Russia, China, India and other members of this mechanism,” he pointed out.
