According to a press release from that military corps, the returnees, consisting of nine men, seven women and four children, are mostly from Havana and had left the country illegally.
Two of the returnees were transferred to the MININT investigative body as alleged perpetrators of criminal acts before leaving Cuban territory illegally, the statement added.
It is the second migrant repatriation operation so far in 2025 and the first by US authorities, the text noted.
Nineteen compatriots arrived from the Bahamas by air last Friday, the source added.
Cuban authorities maintain their firm commitment to safe and orderly migration and reiterate the danger and life-threatening conditions represented by illegal departures from the country and the irresponsible involvement of minors.
