Gebyehu wrote on his X social network account that the talks focused on shared priorities on peace, security and regional issues, with a strong emphasis on strengthening IGAD’s institutional capacity.
He said the African body ‘greatly values its longstanding partnership with the Republic of Uganda, a founding member state, as we work together to promote regional development and integration’.
Gebeyehu is leading the Authority’s high-level delegation to the African Union’s Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government on the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Agenda, focused on shaping the continent’s post-Malabo agri-food systems agenda for 2026-2035.
The conclave scheduled for January 9-11 sessions under the theme of promoting inclusive transformation of agri-food systems for sustainable economic growth and shared prosperity.
