Angola and Kenya assessed bilateral cooperation

Luanda, Jan 8 (Prensa Latina) The Angolan President, João Lourenço, spoke today with his Kenyan counterpart, William Ruto, on bilateral cooperation and issues of regional interest, said the local Presidency.

The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace of Cidade Alta, in Luanda, after which no statements were made to the press.

This is William Ruto’s first working visit to Angola as head of state, a position he has held since 2022, and comes at a time when Lourenço is preparing to assume, on behalf of his country, the rotating presidency of the African Union.

In December, Kenya assumed the presidency of the East African Community (EAC), one of the critical regions in the continent due to the conflicts in Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Angola and Kenya have cooperation agreements in various sectors, such as agriculture, energy and tourism, and share common objectives for sustainable development.
