The list of murdered drivers includes three who were burned alive, while nine others were kidnapped and four were shot.

The violence also extends to vehicles, as nine goods trucks were hijacked, 12 shot, 576 set on fire, 246 completely destroyed and 167 were robbed.

In addition, 37 buildings housing the offices of transport companies or unions were vandalized, according to the Magik 9 Panel program.

Passengers are not spared, as 198 were kidnapped, 22 killed and 46 wounded by gunfire, such statistics illustrate the magnitude of the danger faced by transport workers and users in Haiti.

The Haitian Owners and Drivers Association called on the government to take urgent measures to make roads safer and protect the union.
