Habtamu highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, the modifications implemented at the national level since 2018 have allowed approximately 25 million people to benefit from this basic service.
The Minister specified that reforms cover both urban and rural areas with tangible results, in addition to the effective work in the energy area, and cited the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam as an excellent example.
He expounded that Ethiopia reports significant progress in connecting the Horn of Africa region with energy, an achievement that not only benefits the country, but also neighboring nations.
Habtamu stressed that the government has prioritized early warning systems to mitigate drought and flood risks, which is a crucial step to ensure national water security.
