Venezuela calls “erratic” Argentine government’s behavior

Caracas, Dec 28 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan Attorney General Tarek William Saab called the behavior of the Argentine government erratic, which shows its connection to the aggression against Venezuela carried out by detained Argentine citizen Nahuel Gallo.

Gallo is subject to criminal proceedings because there is evidence that implicates him in serious acts that threaten the security of the nation, the senior official of the Public Ministry said in a statement.

Minister of Security Patricia Bullrich and Foreign Minister Gerardo Werthein were “identified as persons of interest in the investigation, therefore they will be incorporated into the case” in view of their incriminating statements through a corresponding judicial process, in which the evidence collected will be compared with the allegations that Gallo and his defense may make.

The Attorney General stressed that the notoriety given by the high Argentine authorities to the arrest of this citizen “is directly related to the fact that the investigations carried out by the Venezuelan auxiliary justice bodies reveal that in the chain of command of the group of terrorists sent from Argentina, minister Bullrich herself appears and this is stated in the file.”

The statement from the Venezuelan Attorney General’s office asserted that Bullrich must respond to the Argentine people and Gallo’s family “why Gallo’s trip was authorized without informing the Venezuelan authorities,” thereby setting a serious precedent in the region. It also asks why in March of this year she publicly said that she was going to send gendarmes to Venezuela with objectives outside of International Law and the Law. “The erratic behavior of the Argentine government until now only demonstrates its connection with this aggression against Venezuela, which was deactivated,” it stressed, and reaffirmed that it will be up to the Venezuelan justice system to evaluate all these elements to issue its verdict.
