The bodies were found in the rugged area of Taura, in the canton of Naranjal, in the province of Guayas, while investigations continue to find out the whereabouts of the children, reported Teleamazonas channel.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the exact number of bodies found nor their identity.

According to the digital portal Primicias, teams from the National Directorate of Crimes against Life (Dinased), Criminalistics and other specialized units will carry out forensic analysis to determine their identity and causes of death.

Ecuador is pending the case of brothers Josué and Ismael Arroyo, as well as Saúl Arboleda and Steven Medina, between 11 and 15 years of age, who disappeared last December 8 in Guayaquil, after being taken away in a van by uniformed officers.

A judge declared this Tuesday the existence of forced disappearance in the case and ordered comprehensive reparation measures.

Among them, that the State, through the competent national system, continue with the acts of investigation to find the whereabouts of the children.
