In the vast firmament of sports, few stars shine with the eternal brilliance of this titan, who was acknowledged by the vote of 87 media outlets around the world to dominate the category of Best Male Athlete in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Mijaín’s victory was overwhelming, just as he was with his rivals throughout his career, during which he received the approval of nearly 83 percent of voters. The athlete, who this year became the first in any sport in Olympic history to win the summer title in the same event in five consecutive game, took his second award in the prestigious survey, after having obtained it in 2021.

From the Olympic sands to his people, Mijaín stands out s a beacon of inspiration. His imposing figure, his serene temperament and his undisputed dominance are symbols of a man who has defied the laws of time and history.

There is no rival who has bent him, nor a peak that he has not conquered. He is, undeoutedly, one of the immortals of sports in the history of planet Earth.

Today, the name of Mijaín López resonates like an epic poem, like an ode to perseverance, excellence and Caribbean pride, and while his wake shines in the sky of the immortals, he will continue to be the invincible fighter and the Hero of the Republic of Cuba, a distinction that he officially received a few days ago.
