An event organized by the National Secretariat of Veterans and War Disabled of the Farabundo Martí Front (FMLN) will provide funds for the shipment of a container of medicines and medical supplies prepared by the Cuba Chapter, a non-partisan Salvadoran group.
We veterans send our support to Cuba and its people in their fight against the United States blockade and we are against Cuba’s inclusion on the State Sponsors of Terrorism (SSOT) list prepared by Washington, Commander Ramón Suarez said when expressing his support.
It is a small and minimal contribution for what Cuba has given this country, and especially to the veterans and war wounded. This is an event that we do with our hearts with a concrete action of material support by collecting funds for the purchase of medicines that will be sent to Cuba, Suarez added.
Activists such as Efraín Mejía, Rafael Benavides and Raúl Martínez (Logan), who together with other people promote the sale of tamales and other foods to raise funds for the container, expressed themselves in the same regard.
We condemn the blockade and repudiate Cuba’s inclusion on the SSOT list, which may worsen under the new Donald Trump administration. We repudiate this criminal policy, Martínez said.
