This was made known by the president of the solidarity entity, Truong Thi Hien, at an event on occasion of the 66th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution and the 64th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, in which she highlighted the unity of the Cuban people in the massive mobilization last Friday in Havana.
In the presence of leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Union of Young Communists Ho Chi Minh, the Union of Women, universities and students, a mass mobilization was also called to raise funds to make a donation to the Cuban people.
The gesture was thanked by the Consul General of Cuba in the southern city, Ariadne Feo Labrada, who emphasized the special bonds of friendship that have united the peoples of the two nations for more than six decades.
The diplomat recalled how in the most difficult years of the war in Vietnam, and in the subsequent stage of national reconstruction, Cuba extended its hand to this nation, making numerous donations to the brother Vietnamese people.
The evening was closed by young Cuban musicians living in Ho Chi Minh City, who in addition to offering attendees the best of traditional Cuban music ratified their permanent support to their country in the fight against the unjust economic, financial and commercial blockade of the United States.
