During the meeting at UNEAC’s headquarters, Magda Resik, first vice president of the Union. touched upon the importance of building cultural bridges that contribute to the artistic development of both nations, based on the broad scope stemming from arts and culture.
Resik noted the possibility of creating common ground between Polish and Cuban artists, and went on to brief Świerżewski on UNEAC’s relations with other European countries, as a way to foster cultural rapprochement among different regions, generating significant cooperation liaisons and common spaces such as the Italo Calvino award.
President of UNEAC’s Art Association, Harold López, gave Świerżewski a tour of the exhibition “Painting in the Nude”, by the renowned artist Ernesto García, at the Villa Manuela gallery.
He also expounded on UNEAC’s role and explained the basic organizational schemes of the national association in terms of membership and subdivisions.
Świerżewski appreciated all the hospitality extended to him in his first visit to Cuba, where he could witness firsthand the great potential of Cuban artists.
