Work must be done so that the new generations can develop all their capabilities and in favor of the Revolution, the head of State said at Havana’s Convention Center, during the opening session of the commissions of the National People’s Power Assembly (Parliament).
Díaz-Canel is attending the joint session of the commissions on Constitutional and Legal Affairs, Attention to Youths, Childhood and Equality of Women’s Rights, and Education, Culture, Science, Technology and Environment, in which the draft bill on the code for children, adolescents and youths is being debated.
According to the president, it is an “emancipatory and uplifting” legal instrument, which must be enforced in a creative and innovative way.
He also warned about the need to guarantee its strict compliance and implement mechanisms to update it, if necessary.
The permanent commissions will meet on Monday and Tuesday, prior to the 4th Ordinary Session of the Cuban Parliament in its 10th Legislature.
During both days, the lawmakers will focus on issues like the problems that affect the population and the legislative actions for their solution.
They will also discuss the transformation of the science, technology and innovation system, the care system and the accountability of delegates, and will debate, among other issues, the economic plan for 2025, including estimates for the end of this year.
The 4th Ordinary Session of the Cuban Parliament in its 10th Legislature will meet from December 18 to 20 at Havana’s Convention Center.
