Dominican Republic and Canada expand air connectivity

Santo Domingo, Dec 15 (Prensa Latina) The Dominican Republic and Canada will expand air connectivity between cities in the two countries, after reaching agreements with several airlines in that nation that will provide a total of 50 thousand additional seats, it was revealed today.

The information was released by the Dominican Minister of Tourism, David Collado, on his social networks, on which occasion he highlighted the importance of strengthening relations with these companies that trust the Quisqueya market.

According to what was indicated, Air Transat will open four new routes, which will connect Canada with the cities of Punta Cana, Samaná, Puerto Plata and La Romana during the high season of 2025, while the airline Sunwing will add seven frequencies during that time of the year.

“For the Dominican Republic, it is vitally important to strengthen ties with these airlines that trust our market and contribute to Canada consolidating itself as the second most important country in terms of tourists to Quisqueya,” Collado said.

The Dominican Ministry of Tourism held two events in Toronto and Montreal last week with the participation of more than 300 tour operators and travel agents in those cities.

In this context, Minister Collado held private meetings with these airlines, the ministry reported.
