New Delhi, Dec 11 (Prensa Latina) India has always supported Russia and will continue to do so in the future, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh assured President Vladimir Putin at a meeting in Moscow.

Putin welcomed the Indian minister on Tuesday, who is visiting Russia to co-chair with his counterpart Andrey Belousov the twenty-first session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Military and Military Cooperation (IRIGC-M&MTC).

“The friendship between our countries is higher than the highest mountain and deeper than the deepest ocean,” Singh said at the meeting, which dealt with issues of bilateral defense cooperation, the Indian Ministry of Defense confirmed.

Both ministers expressed that the partnership between both countries has immense potential and that combined efforts will pave the way for obtaining remarkable results.

Earlier, at the intergovernmental commission, Singh emphasised that the relationship between India and Russia is very strong and lives up to the responsibilities of a special and privileged strategic partnership. He added that the ties have been further strengthened by recent exchanges, including two visits by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Russia during 2024.

Singh expressed India’s determination to expand the capabilities of its domestic defence industry across all domains and industrial collaboration. He also highlighted new opportunities to enhance the participation of Russian industries in Make in India projects.

For his part, Andrey Belousov emphasised the deepening relationship between the two countries, which is based on mutual trust, and congratulated his counterpart on the commissioning of the INS Tushil frigate. He also stated that the launch of the military technical cooperation agreement for 2021-2031 will give the necessary impetus to India’s domestic productions.
