The top representative of diplomacy on the island stressed in X that Israeli actions are a flagrant violation of international law and called for the preservation of Syria’s territorial integrity.
Israel took advantage of the current situation and political events in the Arab nation to occupy with its military forces Mount Hermon, considered the highest peak in Syria with 1814 meters above sea level, as well as a strip of territory that includes the buffer zone between the two nations.
On the eve, the Cuban Foreign Ministry called for the preservation of Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence.
Through a statement published on its website, the Foreign Ministry urged respect for the integrity and security of the diplomatic missions based there.
Israel occupied the Golan after the so-called Six-Day War in 1967 and incorporated the territory into its legal system in 1981, which was rejected by the international community.
Damascus has repeatedly asserted that the Golan is an inseparable part of Syria and its recovery, by all means guaranteed by international law, will remain a priority.
