The Chinese government urged the parties involved in Syria to implement effective measures to ensure the safety of Chinese institutions and personnel in the territory.

Despite the complexity of the situation, the Chinese embassy in Syria remains operational.

‘We will continue to provide all necessary assistance to Chinese citizens who require it,’ the spokesman’s office said.
