The second chief of staff of the Vietnamese People’s Army (VPA) made the statement at a ceremony held last night to mark the 68th anniversary of the founding of the FAR, the 64th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties, and the 40th anniversary of the signing of the agreement on the principles of cooperation in the military field.
Si Tan emphasized that the strong ties that bind the two countries “were forged against all the challenges of the times, turning it into an exemplary and pure relationship” that is constantly being strengthened.
The Vietnamese high command noted the fact that this celebration comes just days before the 80th anniversary of the VPA (December 22), a date of special significance for the Indo-Chinese nation.
He also alluded to the need to preserve for the new generations the invaluable legacy of the special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba and pointed out that, in this sense, a significant contribution is made by the documentary series “Two Hearts, One Heartbeat”, the result of collaboration between the Ministry of Defense of Vietnam and the FAR.
