It was a simple ceremony in which the president placed the band with the insignia of the order established by the Liberator Simon Bolivar, one of the main decorations awarded by the Colombian State.
It occurred at Mujica’s farm in Rincon del Cerro, on the outskirts of this capital.
Mujica also received recognition for his participation in the peace negotiations between the government and the Colombian guerrillas.
