A message published on the institution’s Telegram channel on Tuesday reported that the plumes extended more than five kilometers to the southwest, but there was no ash fall or smell of hydrogen sulfide.
The message also specifies that the emission occurred in an area free of international air traffic and organized tourism.
The 1,156-meter-high Ebeko volcano is located on Paramushir Island and is one of the most active volcanoes in the Kuril Islands.
Ebeko’s record emissions were recorded on August 31, 2018, with a plume up to 6,000 meters high.
