Although Tran Manh and the Singaporean officials agreed that the ties between both countries are developing, reaching numerous milestones in all fields, essentially in trade and investment, they also recognized the need to give a new quality of strategic partnership signed a decade ago.

Thanh Man called on President Shanmugaratnam to support the effective implementation of the Cooperation Agreement between the two Parliaments signed in 2022, so that this channel will help lay the foundation for upgrading their relationship. He also suggested that Singapore and the President push forward the implementation of the Agreement on the Training Program for Middle and High-Level Officials of the Communist Party of Vietnam in Singapore for the period 2024-2026, in addition to increasing the number of scholarships for Vietnam and expanding governance programs for leaders and officials at other levels in the country.

The President of Singapore assured that they will continue to support Vietnam in improving the quality of its human capital, and recommended that both sides promote exemplary cooperation models, such as the Vietnam-Singapore industrial parks. He also urged to make more and better use of collaboration opportunities in new areas such as digital transformation, carbon credit market, energy sector, and electricity grid connection, and to strengthen cultural and tourism exchanges.

During his meeting with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on Tuesday, the Vietnamese Parliament Speaker called on the Singaporean government to continue creating favorable conditions for businesses, investors, and the community of nearly 25,000 Vietnamese citizens living in the country.

Both sides hailed the results of bilateral economic cooperation, particularly regarding Singapore as the second largest investor in Vietnam with more than 3,800 projects and a total registered capital of more than 81 billion USD. They also agreed that the network of 18 Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks, spread across 13 provinces and cities in Vietnam, symbolizes the successful collaboration between the two countries.
