At the event, the senior Pakistani official will highlight the potential for greater connectivity in the region through the development of rail and road networks, liberalisation of visa regimes and simplification of border procedures, according to Radio Pakistan.

He will reiterate Islamabad’s concerns about hostilities in the Middle East, which endanger regional peace and security, and will sign the ECO Clean Energy Center Charter.

The Deputy Prime Minister will also meet with participants and other presidents on the sidelines of the event.

The Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) is made up of Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Türkiye, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
