Valdes received the award from the Vice President of the National Assembly and member of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (PPRL), Chaleum Yiapaoheu, who also heads the Lao-Cuba Friendship Association.
The ceremony was held at the end of the successful performance offered at the National Culture Hall by the BNC, which for the first time in history shows its art here with such a large representation of its cast.
On their last day in Vientiane on Monday, the Cuban artists visited the Arch of Triumph of Patouxay and the stupa of Pha That Luang, two of the main tourist attractions of this city, in addition to paying a courtesy visit to the Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Suansavant Viyaketh. Before the previous day’s function, the BNC Director-General also held talks with the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Chaleun Yiapaoheu, and the head of the PPRL’s Foreign Relations Department and member of its Central Committee, Bpunleau Phandanouvong.
