The air transport agency told reporters Sunday that the notices warned of fuel shortages at all Cuban airports between December 1 and 8, a warning the island’s aviation authorities have already canceled.
The agency stated that the flight program would operate normally according to the previously established schedule, adding it will join the Russian Transport Ministry to continue monitoring air communications between Russia and Cuba to protect the airlines and citizens’ interests.
Rosaviatsia Spokesman Artiom Koreniako warned on Saturday of possible changes in the flight schedule due to the shortage of jet fuel at Havana and Varadero airports, starting December 1 to 8.
Koreniako added that Russian airplanes flying from Moscow to these destinations will be forced to stop in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, to fill up.
