The agreement aims at expanding Cefas’ research and cementing ties between the two academic institutions.
The scientific supervisor of the Russian Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Mikhail Petrovich, indicated that in a world where technologies are an indispensable part of life, the research and applications developed by Cefas stand as praiseworthy results.
For her part, the rector of the Matanzas university, Leyda Finalé, said that the visit of the delegation from the Russian academy and the signing of the agreement is a follow-up to the trip by UM personnel to Russia in May.
The first vice-rector of the Mirea Technological University, Nikolay Ivanovich Prokopov, thanked the warm welcome offered by the UM and expressed that his center is extremely grateful for the opportunity to add experiences with a Cuban academic institution.
Initially, the exchanges will focus on areas such as science, doctoral training and academic exchange, in pursuit of a better development for students, he said.
The rector of the Russian academy and responsible for the youth area in the institution, Gregory Valeriovich, argued that older people in Russia have great knowledge of Cuba, not so much the young generation, so meetings like these contribute to strengthening the ties between both nations with an emphasis on youth.
