According to the website of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, several bilateral meetings with representatives of the military and political leadership of the DPRK are scheduled during Belousov’s official visit.

DPRK Defense Minister No Kwang Chol received his Russian counterpart at Sunan International Airport, outside Pyongyang, where a welcoming ceremony with an honor guard took place.

During President Vladimir Putin’s official visit to Pyongyang, the DPRK and Russia signed a comprehensive strategic partnership treaty on June 19,

Article 4 of the treaty, already ratified by both parties, stipulates that if one of the countries suffers armed aggression, the other must immediately provide military and other assistance, following the UN Charter and the laws of both states.
