At the farewell meeting with the Iranian diplomat, Muttaqi praised the efforts of Qomi during his tenure and stated that the Islamic Emirate (Taliban government) is ready to work with the new ambassador of Iran to enhance bilateral relations.
Hassan Kazemi Qomi was appointed Ambassador of Iran to Kabul on December 17, 2022, succeeding Bahador Aminian.
Among the diplomat’s most important achievements was coordinating a conference on Afghanistan’s regional cooperation initiative, attended by representatives and ambassadors of more than ten countries in Kabul, and the second meeting of the Regional Contact Group on Afghanistan in Tehran.
On Sunday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry announced the replacement of Qomi as Special Representative and Acting Ambassador in Kabul, appointing Ali Reza Beigadli as Iran’s new Ambassador to Afghanistan.
