Vladimir Putin to pay official visit to Kazakhstan

Astana, Nov 25 (Prensa Latina) Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a state visit to Kazakhstan on November 27, the press service of President Kasim-Yomart Tokaev reported today.

The note published on Monday on the Kazakh leader’s Telegram channel highlights that the Russian leader will visit the Central Asian nation at the invitation of his counterpart Tokaev.

During his stay, negotiations at the highest level are planned, as well as the two leaders taking part in the XXth Interregional Cooperation Forum by videoconference.

In addition, on November 28, the regular session of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will be held in Astana, during which participants will discuss issues of regional and international interest and approve a series of documents.

Last week, the Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed the participation of Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in the meeting.

The Collective Security Treaty Organization, which today includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan, is based on a 1992 treaty, although it was formally established 10 years later, in 2002.

In 2025, Kyrgyzstan will take over from Kazakhstan as pro tempore president of the CSTO.
