The Long March-2C rocket lifted off in the morning local time from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center and launched Siwei Gaojing-2 03 and Siwei Gaojing-2 04 into orbit.
Developed by the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, they are equipped with high-precision radars that operate under all weather conditions, 24 hours a day.
These devices will join a network of optical and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and optical satellites to strengthen the capability of integrated earth observation services.
The manufacturer highlighted that the new devices, with 25 percent more efficient payloads, will contribute to activities such as disaster prevention, natural resource management, urban security and maritime applications.
In addition, they will be able to quickly identify areas affected by floods and geological catastrophes, providing crucial data for early warnings and rapid response.
