The weather institution informed that the quake occurred at 01:52 hours, local time, at 19.69 degrees north latitude and 77.03 degrees west longitude.
The seism was felt in several places in Granma and Santiago de Cuba provinces.
Another 6.7-magnitude earthquake occurred on November 10 in Pilon municipality that shook Granma, Guantanamo, and Santiago de Cuba and was felt from Camaguey to Cienfuegos, in central Cuba.
Some 1,966 aftershocks were registered 48 hours later, 71 of which were probably felt.
