Maduro says Venezuela and Iran open a new stage of relations

Caracas, Nov 22 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro affirmed that Venezuela and Iran opened a new stage of a strong alliance for joint economic development, increased trade, mobility, and exchange through tourism.

Upon concluding on Thursday evening the Tenth High-Level Joint Commission between the two countries at the Miraflores Palace, the seat of the Government, Maduro commended the progress achieved in the last 20 years that has cemented the historic relationship.

The head of state praised effective human ties, deep political trust, and courageous and solid positions in all situations in the last few decades.

He recalled that Commander Hugo Chavez (1954-2013) was the first to see that Iran would be an emerging power in the 21st century, and assured that he could understand “the strength that emanates from a people that has the will to be free and sovereign and go beyond its historical time.”

The president highlighted the Islamic Republic’s example of courage, dignity, and strength, which has fought to reinforce its path and model.

Maduro, representing the Venezuelan delegation at the four-day meeting, expressed gratitude and congratulations, commending the working commissions for their excellent organization of the comprehensive cooperation map.
