The port is reportedly heralding new opportunities for tourism and the economy at large in El Salvador.
As part of cooperation agreements signed by President Nayib Bukele during his visit to China in 2019, the port project was benefitted with an 18-million-dollar investment package, resulting from consensus reached with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Zhang said.
We are talking about “another milestone in the development of relations between China and El Salvador,” indicated the diplomat, whose words were echoed by Salvadoran Tourist Minister Morena Valdez, who highlighted the importance of the project, noting that “it will be another option for Salvadoran families and international tourists.”
