According to what Hamlet Garnier, the main organizer of the festival, confirmed today, on this occasion the Ciudad Metal will have activities until November 30 in six venues in the city of Santa Clara, and will feature the presence of more than 15 Cuban and foreign bands, as part of the tradition of inviting main exponents of the genre on the Island.

The selection of the bands seeks to balance aspects such as the veteran status of the groups present and the youth of those who participate for the first time, all as part of the promotion of new art that the festival has defended since its creation in 1990, added the main organizer of the event.

Among the attractions of Ciudad Metal 2024 are the presence of the international bands “Keimzeit” and “Nygma”, from Germany and Mexico, respectively, as well as digital art and fanzine exhibitions, the presentation of albums, the long-awaited tattoo convention and a tribute concert to The Beatles.

According to the information released on the event’s official website, on this occasion the festival aims to consolidate its presence in the digital world -after the experience of holding it completely virtually during the years 2020 and 2021- as well as to gain communication between the groups and their audience.

Since its first edition in Santa Clara in 1990, Ciudad Metal has established itself as the main rock festival in Cuba, both for the variety of genres it brings together, as well as for the presence of the best bands in the country and the exchange with foreign exponents, values ​​that have also made it the longest-running on the Island.
