Macron, who arrives in this country after participating in the G20 Summit in Brazil, will lay a wreath at the Monument of the Liberator General Bernardo O’Higgins, in the Plaza de la Ciudadanía.
He will then go to La Moneda Palace where he will be received with military honors, will meet with Boric and will make a tour of memory spaces such as the White Room, a replica of what was the office of former governor Salvador Allende.
According to a press release from the Presidency, both will lead the signing of an agreement for the creation of a binational center on Artificial Intelligence (AI), which is a new milestone in the history of bilateral scientific and technological collaboration.
Boric and Macron will later offer a statement to the press.
The French president’s agenda also includes a visit to La Chascona, one of the homes once owned by poet Pablo Neruda in this capital, a meeting with Cardinal Fernando Chomalí, Archbishop of Santiago, and with Chilean investors.
Chile is France’s third largest trading partner in Latin America and currently about 300 subsidiaries of the European country’s companies operate here in banking and insurance, industry, distribution, the automotive sector, aeronautics, electronics, energy, water and transportation.
