Aybar, whose Vietnamese name is Nguyen Thi An (alias An Tay), was arrested and prosecuted along with others allegedly involved in drug-related activities at an apartment in the town of Thu Duc.

A subsequent toxicology test confirmed the presence of drugs in the 29-year-old model’s body, the source said.

In another police operation in Tan Binh district, authorities arrested singer Nguyen Trung Hieu, also known as Chi Dan, and TikToker Truc Phuong, both Vietnamese, on similar charges.

The arrests stemmed from a broader investigation into an international drug trafficking case from France to Vietnam by air.

To date, Vietnamese police have dismantled nearly 500 criminal networks related to drug trafficking and prosecuted 1,132 people.

In addition, up to 323,5 kilograms of narcotics were seized along with many weapons and related evidence, and the suspects were found to have trafficked narcotics worth more than $1,1 billion.
