Bogdanov, who is also the Special Representative of the President of Russia for the Middle East and African countries, added that those funds are being redirected, among other things, to development projects under the refinancing program.
The diplomat affirmed that these debts are being used “to implement socio-economic projects in those countries.”
Bogdanov also announced that Russia will open embassies in that continent’s several countries, such as Equatorial Guinea, Sierra Leone, and South Sudan.
The deputy foreign minister recalled that an embassy in Burkina Faso was just opened, and the possibility of reopening embassies in some countries where they were once closed, is also being considered.
