Former Belizean leaders collect donations for Cuba

Belmopan, Nov 13 (Prensa Latina) Two former Belizean prime ministers are collecting donations to assemble and send a shipment of essential products to Cuba to assist that country amid the complex situation it is currently facing.

Former Prime Ministers Dean Barrow (2008-2020) and Said Musa (1998-2008) are promoting the initiative and calling on those who want to donate cash, bank transfers, and goods.

It aims to purchase small generators, solar panels, food, medicines, and other supplies to be distributed to hospitals, centers that care for people with disabilities, and the population in general.

The campaign’s organizers have set up two bank accounts specifically for collecting remittances and have provided a premise to collect material donations.

They also called on the media and influencers to publicize the initiative to reach as many donors as possible.

The Belizean politicians thus joined the international solidarity movement with the Cuban people after the impact of recent natural phenomena and the shortages caused by the hostility of the United States.
